Principal Geologist
Mr. Gilpin has over 18 years of experience analyzing geological hazards in California and Alaska. He has provided geological and geotechnical consultation over the last 12 years for projects in northern California including commercial and residential developments, utility facilities, transmission lines, and highways. Seismic hazard evaluations include such projects as Holderman Hospital in Napa County, Alexion Brothers Hospital in San Jose, water tank siting for the Cities of Burlingame, Millbrae and Hillsborough, and a liquid gas transportation facility in Valdez, Alaska.
In 1999 and 2001 he served as a member of the San Francisco Structural Advisory Committee regarding residential development on Lots 12 & 13 along Edgehill Way on Knockash Hill, San Francisco. In 1997/98 he provided engineering geologic support for five landslide damage claims that represent over $15 million worth of residential and commercial real estate and utility lines. In addition, he provided expert testimony on a $3 million bridge construction claim.
